Nalanda Public School was established in the year 2003 and was running in a rented house with an initial strength of 22 students. The school was shifted to its own building on 15th March, 2008 which is situated at Bhatapada, Salepur, Cuttack. The school has been affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi in the month of May in 2014 which is now affiliated up to Senior Secondary Level i.e. XII. Our school is also recognised by Govt. of Odisha and also received the NOC from Mass and Education Department, Govt. of Odisha. The school is following C.B.S.E. curriculum of study and students are provided with NCERT books along with other reputed reference books for their all round development.
There are 1700 students studying in our school. We are very much quality cautious for the future achievements of our students and we never compromise on that. Every child is a special child for us. We nurture our children with much care and affection as the teaching staffs of our school are highly qualified, trained, experienced, self-driven, committed, motivated and skilled in their respective discipline. Special cares are taken for those students who are found weak to see that they can overcome by providing day boarding facility. The merits of the students are assessed by conducting regular periodic-tests, surprise tests and other tests as per CBSE norms. After the withdrawal of CCE pattern or Gradation system, when percentage system was introduced in 10th Board Examination, Our school stood topper among all CBSE schools in cuttack district. Last year all of our students qualified in 10th Board Examination with highest 96.4%.
The School Fee is quite affordable as compared to other schools. We also facilitate the poor students to learn and to be a better citizen. Much prior to the enforcement of RTE Act, there are more than 300 students of different classes belonging to BPL list are availing the free schooling in Bhatapada Campus.
We have planned to find out the best in each and every child, not only academic but also in human values, democratic values, spiritual & social attitude, personality trait and in different co-curricular activities like chess, Yoga, Spoken English, karate, Art & Craft, music & dance, literary week observance, sports, vocational training and much more which are being reflected in our year planner.
Our School Campus is Internet and Wi-Fi enabled that helps our teachers and students to explore new things and ideas. Our school has well equipped laboratories where our students make experiments to develop their practical knowledge. We have our separate Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science Laboratory. We are also preparing advanced language and mathematics laboratories in our school. This year we have started boarding facilities for out station students. We have our own transportation facility that works in and around 15km radii approximately.
Our qualified and experienced teachers are always updated and enriched with new and advanced teaching methodologies through different orientation programmes, workshops, seminars etc organized by CBSE and other reputed organizations as well as by eminent Educationists.
Our students are not only excellent in academics and studies but also they show their best in all types of co-curricular activities. As this is CBSE affiliated school, the students participate in all the activities that are organized by CBSE and Sahodaya, Bhubaneswar chapter. The students of NPS participate in events like Debate, Essay, Quiz, Dance, Song etc. We are also providing different games and sports activities, so that our students can able to participate in different inter-school, district level and state level competitions.
We have also NCC and scout and guide department in our school and the student can take part in that.
Looking into the importance of Health and Physical Education, we have many games and sports activities in our school. Students participate in these activities in regular basis. Annual Sports of school is conducted in the month of December every year. The winning students are awarded with prizes and certificates.
We are living in a society. To make our students more social, we conduct different activities like plantation, road safety, save fuel, save water etc throughout the year. To learn spirituality we take our small students to different temples, gurudwara, churches etc. and make them understand the spiritual value of our life.
We celebrate different functions and national festival days in our school to make aware the students regarding the importance of those days. Also the students can understand the cultural values of our society.
Last but not the least, the hard work and devotion of the staff members, support from the parents and the good wishes from the people have make us to reach in this place. I expect the same from all of you in future, so that we can provide better education to our children and create better citizens for our society.
